Neighborhood Watch.. (Information previously published in the Echo)

We need to help each other by looking after our neighbor’s property while they are away. Statistically, by far the most burglaries occur during the daytime, not at night, and are generally perpetrated by truant students. If you see anything suspicious, anything that doesn’t look right, please call the police and let them check it out. Of particular suspicion would be a van backed up to an open garage door.

When you go away on vacation or an extended trip:

> stop your papers,

> put a hold on your mail,

> let your neighbors know you'll be away.

You can also notify the Thousand Oaks Police. They will have their reserve police officers make daily drive-bys to check on your property, while you're away.
